Improving Your Relationship with Food

Whether you feel trapped by the diet cycle or an eating disorder, I help those who are looking to improve their relationship with food and their body.
At Hayes Nutrition, my goal is to help you find a balance with food and see how it fuels and nourishes your body. How food can make you feel good and energized versus full of guilt and shame. How reconnecting to your body and learning to listen helps you to rebuild the trust that was taken from dieting. My hope is to help you create a kind, loving relationship with food and your body.
Finding peace with food and your body is a journey, but with the right tools and guidance, it can be yours.
Moving Toward Intuitive Eating

Intuitive eating is built around the idea that our body functions best when we listen to it and the signals it sends about our hunger and fullness. In 2016, I completed training with Evelyn Tribole, MS, RDN, one of the co-authors of Intuitive Eating. I am passionate about using this knowledge to helping you end the constant dieting, weight cycling or yo-yo dieting and find a healthy relationship with food.

What is Intuitive Eating?
Intuitive Eating is a way to help foster a healthy relationship with your food, mind and body. It focuses on nurturing and taking care of your body, rather than punishing it with too little calories, food rules, and hours of exercise. It helps you to reconnect to your body to listen to hunger, fullness, food preference and look at the reasons you are using food, other than nourishment. Intuitive Eating’s 10 principles help you on the journey to find the weight you are meant to be.
The 10 Principles of Intuitive Eating are:
- Reject the Diet Mentality
- Honor Your Hunger
- Make Peace with Food
- Challenge the Food Police
- Feel Your Fullness
- Discover the Satisfaction Factor
- Cope with Your Feelings Without Using Food
- Respect Your Body
- Exercise: Feel the Difference
- Honor Your Health
